This patch program will prepare you for viewing totality, which happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun on April 8, 2024. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806. The next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in the year 2099. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime spectacular phenomenon in the sky!
The request for free eclipse patches will open on
April 9 and close when it fills at 400 patches. These free patches
will be in each of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio’s offices beginning on
April 22.
A limited quantity of additional patches will be available for purchase at each council shop for $2.50 per patch.
